Program Requirements:

  • Be a registered UC San Diego graduate or undergraduate student for the duration of the program
  • Commit to improving your personal, professional, and leadership skills
  • Have a desire to interact with others and actively participate in the program
  • Earn a certificate for successful completion of all required activities

Registration Guidelines:

  • You are welcome to register for a seminar that is already full. Students on the waitlist have a high likelihood of being admitted.
  • Register for only one section of the same seminar.
  • You may register for two different seminars in the same quarter if your schedule permits.
  • If you are unable to participate in a program for which you have registered, please email ccl@ucsd.edu.

Interpersonal Relationships Seminars (Fall - 2014)
This non-credit seminar offered each quarter and during the summer emphasizes development of social self-confidence and "people skills" through experiential learning activities that address initiating and maintaining conversations with peers and professors, assertiveness and managing conflict in relationships, skills in listening and self-disclosure, and understanding personality styles and group dynamics.

Leadership for Social Change Seminar (Fall - 2014)
Do you want to enact positive change and make a difference in your community? This non-credit seminar utilizes the Social Change Model of Leadership to inspire the development of the self, the group, and society. Participants will explore group communication and teamwork skills; clarify personal goals, values, and identity; and motivate others through inclusion, taking action, and creating change. You will be guided in a process of discovering how you can make a difference and improve your social world!

Social Innovation Doing Good Better Seminar offered by CSI Community Service (Fall - 2014)
This non-credit seminar is offered by CSI Community Service in fall quarter. It will cultivate the next generation of inventive leaders by promoting student social innovation projects, in which individuals or groups of students apply their skills and knowledge to solve real world problems. It teaches students to take action on local and global challenges through innovative solutions. Participants will learn how to construct an effective Clinton Global Initiative University Commitment to Action application, Social Innovation Fund at UCSD application, Big Ideas contest entry, or The Green Initiative Fund at UCSD application.
